Built in 1903, the hotel is an architectural marvel and brings together Moorish, Oriental and Florentine styles. Tower Wing Rooms
The renowned American architect Melton Bekker, conceived the Tower wing in 1973. With its arched balconies topped by a jagged diadem, The Taj Mahal Tower stands in harmonious contrast to The Taj Mahal Palace. The rooms offer a refreshing mix of European style and Indian elegance. Guests have a choice of rooms that overlook the city or face the Gateway of India and the Arabian Sea. Currently operating with an inventory of 275 rooms:

Superior Rooms
Well equipped with 2-line speakerphones, international direct dial facility, wireless Internet connectivity, mini bar, personal safe, channel music and colour television with satellite programmes, interactive TV, and safe deposit boxes for laptops.

Deluxe Rooms
Contemporary rooms exemplifying the ultimate in lavish comfort and style. Well equipped with all the above guest amenities. All rooms have been refurbished and include all superior room guest amenities.

Taj Club Rooms
Guest amenities and services include complimentary airport pick-up, exclusive check-in and check-out, early check-in (9 am) and late check-out (6 pm) subject to availability, a welcome drink on arrival. Guests will also be provided with 24-hour butler service, and are welcome to enjoy complimentary breakfast, tea / coffee and cocktails. Complimentary use of the gymnasium, steam and Jacuzzi in the fitness centre. Taj Club guest rooms will be provided with a complimentary bottle of imported wine, chocolates, fresh flowers, a fruit basket and a choice of newspapers and magazines.
Executive Suites
Bright, airy, and stunning, these two room units offer spacious comfort with a living room and bedroom. Guests will enjoy stunning views overlooking the sea. The privileges of the Taj Club are also included.

Luxury Suite
Offers a spacious living room, bedroom and dining room and is well-equipped with all the above guest amenities.. The privileges of the Taj Club are also included.

Palace Wing Rooms - Now Accepting Reservations for 15th August 2010 onwards
The corridors stand testimony to a century old heritage, with genuine artifacts and antiques gracing the aisles. Guests have a choice of rooms that overlook the city or pool or face the Gateway of India and the Arabian Sea. The Taj Mahal Palace guests enjoy a private sit down check in on arrival, in the lobby lounge with a selection of welcome drinks, prior to being escorted to their rooms. Some parts of the Palace wing are closed for restoration.

Luxury Grande Rooms - Now Accepting Reservations for 15th August 2010 onwards
Renowned for its architecture, Luxury Grande Rooms exude an aura of the old-world charm and elegance. Recently restored these rooms are adorned with delicate Rajput bay-windows encompassing spectacular views of the Gateway of India, Arabian Sea, poolside or the bustling Mumbai city.

Room are equipped with a Sony Bravia home theatre system, luxurious Italian marbled bathrooms equipped with a bathtub and a separate shower cubicle (with hydro massage hand-showers and overhead rain showers).

Guests staying in the Luxury Grande Rooms can enjoy services of a 24 hour personalized butler along with complimentary tea, coffee, soft beverages and cookies throughout the day in the Palace Lounge. Complimentary Internet Access at the Work Stations at Palace Lounge

Taj Club Rooms - Now Accepting Reservations for 15th August 2010 onwards
Rich and stylish the newly restored Taj Club Rooms are adorned with a rosewood flooring and high ceiling, reminiscent of the hotels old world charm. Guests can enjoy the breathtaking view of the Gateway of India, Arabian Sea, poolside or the bustling Mumbai city.

Room are equipped with a Sony Bravia home theatre system, luxurious Italian marbled bathrooms equipped with a bathtub and a separate shower cubicle (with hydro massage hand-showers and overhead rain showers).

Executive Suites - Now Accepting Reservations for 15th August 2010 onwards
Offers a spacious bedroom, living room, dining area and a large bathroom. Bright , airy and lavishly styled, these newly restored Executive Suites are aimed at pampering and creating a truly unforgettable experience for the guest at every touch point from the arrival until departure

The enhanced amenities include ergonomic furniture, bedside lighting, Connectivity Panel (multi media panel with a universal adapter). In-room Business and Entertainment Technology with a virtual surround sound bar below the TV panel; Internet browser on TV screen; guests can view their laptop contents on TV screen. Home Theatre : music and movies can be provided on request. Bathrooms are spacious with Italian Marble; rain shower heads and a separate bath tub.
